The house overlooks the small and very picturesque town of Mahone Bay with its three churches by the sea.
It is set high on a hill surrounded by lawns and mature trees. There is a deck to sit and wile away the hours.
The house was built in 1765 by Christian Ernst. He was one of the early German settlers to the area, along with his brother who built a similar house on the neighbouring property. Their descendants still live there. It is of typical timber frame construction with a clapboard finish: a saltbox by the sea
Access is up a ½ mile drive off the main road leading into Mahone Bay.
