This is one of Mahone Bay’s earliest heritage houses, built in 1765. One enters the house through what was once the ‘birthing room’, this leads into the ‘Old Parlour’ with its original corner cupboard and deep wood wainscot. There is a second larger living room with an original fireplace built with local slate and the old brick baking oven alongside. The ceiling is beamed and there is a period hutch from Christian Ernst’s time.

The kitchen is well appointed and features a six burner Garland stove. A wide doorway leads into the modern dining room with bay window overlooking the town.

Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms, sleeping a total of eight, with two bathrooms.

The house is furnished with Maritime antiques and a collection of latter day folk art, a unique speciality of the area.
