Mahone Bay
You will find everything you will need in the town, from restaurants to antique and craft shops, as well a supermarket and a launderette. There is also a liquor commission; alcohol may only be sold in Canada through province run shops. For a very good selection of wines, head for the Liquor Commission in Chester.
Bridgewater
12 miles from Mahone Bay, this is a thriving town straddling the LaHave River. Visitor services include accommodations, banks, a hospital, museums, a variety of supermarkets and restaurants, shopping areas, recreational facilities, a radio station, a newspaper and a visitor information centre. The ‘South Shore Exhibition and International Ox Pull’ is held here annually towards the end of July.
Lunenburg
Located just 6 Miles from Mahone Bay, this busy town is one of Nova Scotia's most historic and beautiful towns, Lunenburg's colourful waterfront, narrow streets and captivating architecture radiate the flavour of the town's seafaring heritage. There are many restaurants and interesting shops to choose from, everything from crafts, antiques and books as well as fashion.
